Privacy Policy — X Fast Download & Translate

This extension saves videos on x.com / twitter.com and, if you enable it, translates tweets through a provider you choose. The developer runs no server that receives user data, collects no personal information, performs no analytics or tracking, shows no ads, and does not sell or share user data.

1. Video download

• The extension detects video URLs, quality options, post IDs and thumbnail URLs on the page to show download buttons and previews. This is kept only in browser session storage and cleared when the session ends.
• When you preview or download, your browser requests the video directly from video.twimg.com, which may receive normal network data such as your IP address. Downloaded files stay on your device and are not removed on uninstall.
• The extension does not read passwords or cookies; preview requests are sent without credentials.

2. Settings and API keys

• Settings (download folder, quality, UI language) are stored locally in the browser.
• API keys and Baidu appid/secret are stored only in local storage.local, never synced and never sent to the developer. They are stored in plain text locally without extra encryption. The Baidu secret is only used locally to compute a signature.

3. Optional tweet translation

• Translation is off by default. When enabled, tweet text, the target language and the model/authentication parameters required by the API are sent directly to the provider you selected and configured: DeepSeek, Qwen (Alibaba Cloud Model Studio), Zhipu, Kimi (Moonshot), Baidu Translate, or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint you enter. In click-to-translate mode, text is sent only when you click the translate button.
• These providers process data under their own privacy policies and may receive your IP address. Please review their policies and pricing before enabling.
• "Test connection" sends a sample text to the configured endpoint.
• Translation cache is stored only locally (max 500 entries, expires after 30 days); the persistent cache does not store full original text.

4. Permissions

• downloads: save videos to your computer.
• storage: store settings, keys and translation cache locally.
• webRequest: detect video URLs loaded by X pages to offer downloads.
• activeTab: interact with the current X tab when you click the extension.
• Host access to x.com / twitter.com / video.twimg.com: show download buttons and translations on X and fetch video files.
• Optional host permissions (translation provider domains or your custom endpoint): requested individually only when you save or test translation settings, used solely to send translation requests to that provider.

5. Data deletion

Uninstalling the extension removes all settings, keys and local cache.

6. Donations and contact

The donation QR code is bundled locally; payments are handled by your payment app and the extension never touches payment data. We only receive information you choose to send by email.

If new features (such as the upcoming word-definition lookup) involve new data handling, this policy will be updated first.
